Rounding Worksheets

Are your students practising how to round larger numbers? Once students understand the skill of rounding, this can be applied to any number. Teach Starter has created a set of fun riddle worksheets that your students can use to sharpen their rounding skills.

Each of the 3 riddle worksheets contains 12 problems where students will round a 4- to 6-digit number. Once students have rounded the number correctly, they will reveal the answer to a riddle by plugging in the corresponding letters.

An answer key is included with your download to make marking fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Guided math groups
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

If students need a bit of a challenge, use the editable version to include decimal values.

For students who need a bit of support, invite them to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts. Additionally, provide students with a place value chart and a highlighter to mark the place being rounded.

Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
