Thanks for compiling these. My school has a ban on words such as 'enthusiastic/enthusiasm' as well as 'pleasing' as they are subjective and not describing skill.

Hi Maddie, Thanks for your lovely comment. First-time report writing can be very daunting and I am glad we could help out.

  • Debbie Pruden

So agree with report card I've been saying it for years. Parent teacher gave to face is one of the best ways to communicate with parents. Unfortunately usually the parents you really need to see rarely show up. I believe simplified generic comments with a grading and info on where the student sits in the class rankings along with twice yearly face to face interviews should be more than enough. I've spoken to many parents and myself as a parent don't read the comments only the effort and suggested actions that could be taken for improvement. Nether the less I face a couple of weeks of testing and data tracking and reporting as that's what's expected, hopefully not for too much longer.

Hi Debbie, Thank you for your message and for your feedback. Report cards are certainly a stressful time for all involved and it is very interesting to see the changes that some school are making to the way they manage their reporting system. It will be fascinating to see if report cards remain the way they are or evolve in the future. Kind regards Jill
