Fill in the missing numbers with this number line worksheet.
Complete the Number Line Worksheet
Students will use their problem-solving skills to determine the missing numbers on the number lines.
The number lines featured in this resource do not have any consecutive numbers filled in. Students will need to determine how many gaps there are and the difference between the two numbers on either side of the gaps.
Once they have determined the increments, they will then be able to complete each number line.
There are two versions of the resource, one with the missing numbers in a table at the bottom of the page and one with an extra number line in its place.
Increments include counting by ones, twos, threes, fives and tens.
An answer key is included with your download to make grading marking fast and easy!
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
In addition to individual student work time, use this worksheet as a:
- guided maths groups
- lesson exit ticket
- fast finisher activity
- homework assignment
- whole-class review (via smartboard).
On the back of the worksheet, challenge more-capable students to create additional number lines with missing increments. Have them swap with a partner and complete the new number lines.
Students who need extra support can be given completed number lines for reference.
