Mindfulness Journal Template for Kids

This simple daily mindfulness reflection template is the perfect addition to your social and emotional learning plan for the school year. This template includes the following mindfulness prompts for kids:

  • How am I feeling today?
  • Why do I feel this way?
  • My current goal…
  • Three things I am grateful for…
  • Steps to reach my goal…
  • One thing I like about myself…

At the bottom of this mindfulness check in is space for the children to have some time to write anything else they feel they need to write down.

Why Do Kids Benefit from Journaling?

Daily journaling for kids is a fantastic tool to help them deal with big emotions. Outside of this, setting a routine of daily mindfulness journaling can help children with communication and writing skills as well! By using a mindfulness journaling template, children become confident with what the questions are asking them, over time, and this can really benefit their learning on a daily basis. It can also help teachers understand how their children are feeling and shift their lessons based on the overall emotional state of a group of children.
