A fun chance game for students to play when learning about probability.

Use this teaching resource in the classroom when learning about chance.

Students place their 7 lucky ducks randomly on the number squares on the gameboard, then roll two dice to see if their ducks are lucky! If a student has any of their ducks sitting on the number of the sum of the two dice, the ducks on that number are removed from the gameboard. The first person to have all their ducks removed from the gameboard is the winner!

Print and laminate a class set of Lucky Ducks gameboards and duck pieces to use during numeracy group activities.

Love this chance game! I played with grade 3 and 4 and the discussion around the best placement of the counters was fantastic! It's so simple but so much discussion can come out of this game.

That's great news Carla! The discussion triggered in these situations is so valuable - and all the while the kids are learning from each other too.
