⏰Telling Time to the Minute – I Have, Who Has Game

Looking for a great way to practise telling time to the nearest minute? I Have, Who Has – Time to the Minute is an exciting game that gets kids moving and calling out clues at lightning speed. Your entire class will be practising telling time quickly and having fun in no time.

To play, give each student a card. They will listen for the time on their card; when they hear it, they read their card, passing the turn to another player. Play continues until each student has read their card.

There are 20 cards included in the resource. If you have more students in your class, why not pair some students together or run this activity in smaller groups with students having multiple cards each?

Through this activity, students will show they can read analog clocks to the nearest minute.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your maths lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Assist students who need help understanding the concepts by using the fishbowl method before playing: a small group sits in the middle, encircled by their classmates, and models the activity for the students to see.

It’s also helpful to pre-teach telling time to the nearest minute before playing.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

Challenge fast finishers to think about how much time must be added to their clock to reach a given time.
