A whole class code cracking game where students solve clues related to personal hygiene.

Use this whole class game at the beginning of the school year or term to encourage cooperation among students and to help reinforce basic hygiene principles.

You can also use this as a fun end-of-term code-breaking activity!

Students use their code-cracking skills to solve five clues and determine the final codeword to defeat the germs.

Exciting Whole Class Fun

Set up a station for each coloured clue (printing three copies of each clue works well for a class of 30, playing in pairs). Students can complete the clues in any order. Once students have finished the five coloured clues they can attempt the final task.

The resource includes:

  • five clues (one for each germ)
  • a final clue
  • student answer worksheets
  • a teacher answer sheet*.

*These options are available via the drop-down menu.

Cooperative Icebreaker

Promote teamwork and collaboration by allowing students to work in pairs or small groups.

Did this with year 5/6. Most managed to work their way through but some found it challenging.
