Adding and Subtracting with Decimals

Do you need a whole class activity to help your students with their computation skills? Look no further if your students are learning to add and subtract decimals! Teach Starter has created a small group bingo game that will give your students an opportunity to solve addition and subtraction problems with decimals as well as decimal word problems. This downloadable resource comes with 8 game boards and 24 calling cards.

To play, give each player a game board and counters to cover the spaces. One student or the teacher will read aloud one calling card. Players will solve the problem, look for the answer to the calling card, and place a counter over the answer on their game board. The first person to make a bingo configuration on their game board wins!

Through this activity, students will show they can add and subtract decimals through the hundredths place.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your maths lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Help students who need help understanding the concepts by giving them grid paper to line up their problems as they are solving them.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

If students need an additional challenge, encourage them to create their own bingo game by using the editable version and printing a blank bingo board and game cards for them to use.
