Learn More About Indigenous Arctic Native Tribes

If you’re prepping for your upper primary Geography lessons, you’ve come to the right place! This printable workbook is specifically designed to help you introduce your students to the fascinating world of the Inuit Territories in Canada.

This workbook provides students with the opportunity to investigate the adaptations and skills people have acquired in order to live within this harsh and unforgiving environment. Using the attached map of northern Canada, students will locate and draw various landforms, landmarks, settlements, and map features.

This geography activity will help your students develop important map-reading skills and analytical skills. It includes questions and mapping exercises specifically designed for students of this age group.

With clear and concise explanations, students will learn about the major geographical features of the Arctic region and its surroundings. They will also locate key bodies of water, countries, and other natural wonders.

Tips for Support and Extension

If your class contains a mix of above- and below-level learners (and let’s be honest… what class doesn’t!), we have provided some differentiation tips and tricks below.

Supporting Less-Confident Students

Research tasks can be overbearing for our less-confident learners. They may not know where to start when it comes to accessing age-appropriate information that targets the topic they are researching. If this is the case, it can be very helpful to provide these learners with a few pre-selected websites to help them on their way with their research.

Challenging More-Confident Students

The resource booklet contains suggested fast-finisher activities to keep your more-confident students engaged and busy. Why not challenge your bright sparks to embark upon an independent research project using one of these extra activities as a stimulus? They could then present their work to the class once it has been completed!
